After finishing school, Darko Prevolšek acquired his knowledge at the barrel factory in the DIK Đurđenovac, then at the Tofrado factory in Pleternica and finally as a production manager at Auric barrels in Našice.

Experience gained through long-term cooperation with leading Croatian wineries and distilleries is woven into its products, which are characterized by high quality and durability.

Customer satisfaction is based on an individual approach to all customer requirements and through engagement in after-sales activities through comprehensive support, consultations and recommendations for regular maintenance of our products.

Quality of raw material

The basis for the production of top quality wooden barrels is quality raw material.

Thanks to the long tradition of close to nature and sustainable forest management, there is an exceptional source of high quality raw material for the production of barrels in Croatia. In addition to the highest and most commonly used oaks (pedunculate and sessile), other species such as mulberry, cherry, ash, chestnut and black locust are also used for barrels.

The natural forests that grow in Croatia have been known since history as a source of material for the production of barrels and represent unused capacity for the production of barrels as final products of the wood industry with great added value.

The wood for the production of staves is cut exclusively in the winter period when the vegetation is dormant.

Production program for wine

Most of the production is based on classic Bordeaux barrique barrels made of Slavonian oak with a volume of 225 l.

27 mm thick staves are made by splitting.

Barrels are produced in two types depending on the quality of the barrels:

Barrel type No. of tree rings Time of drying Wine aging
Classic
3-6 per cm
24 months
up to 12 months
Prestige
over 6 per cm
36 months
over 12 months

Other sizes of barrels from 50 to 1000 liters are also available.

Additional equipment of the barrels is possible at the customer’s request.

Other barrel sizes and raw materials are available on request.

The traceability of the product is possible by the serial number of the barrel under which all data from the production process are available (type of raw material, volume, toasting method and cycle).
